I Came, I Saw, I Bought the T-Shirt in Blue
I love travel. And the algorithms driving my internet explorer at work knows it. Almost every tile or story has to do with travel. I love reading about places and looking at pictures I have yet to visit, by the end of the day I have added new places to my very long “must visit” list. Looking at and reading blurbs about the fairytale villages in France, or the churches in Italy, the beaches of Split remind me why I work on those days where nothing is going the way I want them to.
Lately, in addition to the “best places till not discovered by tourists” or the “affordable places to visit in Japan” I have been getting a lot of “I went to Milan and it sucked” and “Places that I was Disappointed by” and quite frankly I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life, internet explorer.
I think we need to return to the place where we were thankful for the ability to travel and see something new, taste new foods, have adventures. Instead of focusing on the things we didn’t like, lets talk about the experiences we did. If you are never going back because you didn’t like it or it didn’t met your expectations that’s fine but you don’t need to ruin it for others. Learn to pivot instead of sitting in the negative lets make the most of the trip its already paid for after all; find something to do that you will enjoy. Instead of complaining about something others could only dream about adapt more of a “I Came, I Saw, and I Bought the T-shirt in Blue,” mindset.
